HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM THE 2010 SPECIAL OLYMPICS USA NATIONAL GAMES!!!

LETTER FROM SPORTS OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT

Hello Sports Fans!

My name is Molly Orr, Director of Sports Operations, which means I am overseeing all of the Sport Committees that will be running competition for all thirteen sports at the USA National Games. !  It is my job, through the Sports Committees and Venue Teams, to ensure that the athletes have a world class competition. Each month you will be receiving updates on different sports including updates on any Clinics/Demonstrations or Exhibitions that might be occurring during the Games. For example, the Games Organizing Committee is very excited to be hosting the inaugural Flag Football event at the National Level.  Ten teams from eight states will be coming to compete at the Mabel Lee Fields on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Campus.  There will opportunities for you and the athletes to watch night games, participate in Coaches clinics, as well as an opportunity for the athletes to test their own skills in an athlete clinic.  With such a strong Football tradition in Nebraska, this is a great setting to highlight Flag Football as a sport within Special Olympics.  I am very happy to be a part of the team here in Lincoln and look forward to seeing ! all of you next summer!
