FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Candia, NH – October 2, 2007)  The Special Olympics New Hampshire (SONH) Recycle for Gold Program is back!  People can support SONH athletes by donating their unwanted vehicle to Car World.

“Car World is truly pleased to be able to work with an organization like Special Olympics that provides services to people throughout the entire state,” said Jeff Kantor, President of Car World.

People that have a vehicle they wish to donate should call 800-639-2608 ext. 29, and provide some basic information about the location and make and model of the vehicle. Arrangements will be made to pick up the vehicle usually within two or three days.

The “Recycle for Gold” program is available in five of New Hampshire’s counties: Belknap, Strafford, Rockingham, Hillsborough, and Merrimack Counties are included.

Car World was founded in 1969 and was the first state certified “Green Yard” in New Hampshire. Their vehicle recycling techniques are environmentally sound. All fluids are recycled and nothing is dumped. Reclaimed motor oil is used to heat their buildings and the reclaimed gasoline to fuel their vehicles.

People that donate vehicles may be eligible for a tax deduction. Owners receive a receipt for the vehicle at the time of pickup. Special Olympics and Car World do not put a value on the donated vehicle. If the vehicle is sold for more than $500.00, that will be documented for the donor by Special Olympics after the sale according to IRS regulations.

Special Olympics New Hampshire provides a year round program of sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with mental challenges. Currently, more than 3,000 participants are involved in New Hampshire.
