High School Plungers

Thank you for your interest in becoming a High School Plunger - by participating in the High School Plunge you will be supporting 3,576 athletes and Unified partners that participate year-round with Special Olympics New Hampshire. This page will help guide you through the necessary steps to becoming a plunger.  Additionally, the information below will help assist you in soliciting friends, family and local businesses for support.
 
There are two Ways to Register
 
   1.      Register on-line through FirstGiving
   2.      Mail completed form with $25 registration fee to SONH.
 
  • Each registered High School Plunger is entitled to two complimentary wristbands to the rally – one for you and one for a guest. Up to two additional wristbands are available for purchase at $20 each.
  • Want to Join the Fun without braving the icy cold? Register as a Non-Plunging Participant and receive a premium view of the Plunge.
  • Plungers must be at least 14 years old.
 
Raising the Money 
For the required $150 minimum, High School Plungers receive the Basic Plunge Package including:

Plungers who raise more than the minimum amount will receive a gift card of their choice for the following monetary values.

• How to do it:
  • Create a fundraising webpage where donors can contribute to your Plunge on-line with a credit card. Email the link to all your family and friends and share it on Facebook! 
 
Want to get the backpack? Here is how you can raise $250 in five days! 
  • Monday:      Donate $25 yourself 
  • Tuesday:      Ask 5 friends for $5 each 
  • Wednesday: Ask 5 neighbors to donate $10 each
  • Thursday:    Ask 5 relatives to donate $10 each 
  • Friday:        Ask 5 local businesses to donate $20 each 
Check-In
All Plungers and Non-Plunging Participants must check-in before 11 AM on Saturday, February 4th. You can avoid long lines on Saturday by attending one of our early check in sites.
 
 
At check in, you will:
  • Turn in the funds raised
  • Sign a waiver - If you are under 18, your parent/guardian must sign on your behalf
  • Receive your wristbands for access to the Casino Ballroom at the beach
  • Get your basic Plunge package and additional incentives
  • Purchase additional lunches (first come, first serve)

The State Summer Games are the largest of more than 20 competitions Special Olympics New Hampshire holds each year! Join hundreds of volunteers, coaches and Local Programs in cheering on our athletes as they compete May 31st - June 2nd at UNH in Durham. Learn more about the event here.
