Red Sox and Race Tickets for Plungers
Have you decided to Plunge into the Atlantic Ocean next week but have been putting off registering? Now is the time to sign-up. If you register on-line by midnight on Sunday, January 29th you will be placed in a drawing for a pair of tickets to see the Red Sox at Fenway Park or a race Package from the New Hampshire Motor Speedway that includes two Pre-Race Pit Passes to the LENOX Industrial Tools 301 race in July, a pair of t-shirts, hats, and more! If you've already signed-up, thank you for being a loyal Plunger, and you're already eligible for the drawing.
Participating in the Plunge is a great way to get ready for the big game on Sunday, while helping to change the world for a Special Olympics athlete. Proceeds from the Plunge help fund equipment, uniforms and year-round training for local Special Olympics New Hampshire athletes.
While the vast majority of those participating in the Plunge will make their way into the ocean there are those that will stay dry while still raising money for Special Olympics as Pampered Penguins. The Pampered Penguin is required to raise the same fundraising minimum as those plunging into the ocean except they keep dry and get to watch the event unfold.
Click one of the following links to register today for the High School Plunge taking place on February 4th or the 13th Annual Penguin Plunge on Sunday, February 5th!
If you have any questions, please contact Rachael Nicolaou at RachaelN@sonh.org or by phone at (603) 624-1250 ext. 28.

Regional Winter Games Cancelled
The Seacoast Regional Winter Games planned for Coe-Brown Northwood Academy this Saturday, January 28th have been cancelled due to a lack of snow at the school.
This decision was made after a recent inspection of the fields and a forecast that may bring more rain before Saturday. The Regional Games will not be rescheduled but the athletes will still have the opportunity to compete at the State Winter Games at Waterville Valley Resort, March 4th - 6th.
SONH would like to thank Coe-Brown Northwood Academy for all of their efforts in the planning of this event.
Although this regional competition has been cancelled, it is very important that athletes continue to train over the next five weeks in preparation for our State Winter Games at Waterville Valley Resort. Due to the lack of snow athletes should be doing dry land training activities that include flexibility, strength and conditioning, and most importantly aerobic exercise (for example walking, running, stationery cycling, swimming).
For more information on training, please refer to the coaching guides that can be found on the SONH website:
