A return to outside activities brings back many things, including golf. On Monday, August 16th, Special Olympics new Hampshire will join forces with the New Hampshire Association of Chiefs of Police and the New Hampshire Police, Fire and EMS Foundation for a fundraising golf tournament.

The beautiful Owl’s Nest Resort and Golf Club in Thornton will be the site of the tournament that includes all the bells and whistles for a great day on the course. There is only one golf course in New Hampshire designed by golf great Jack Nicklaus and it’s the Owl’s Nest.

Funds raised will not only benefit SONH but our great partners in this effort the New Hampshire Association of Chiefs of Police and the New Hampshire Police, Fire and EMS Foundation.

The New Hampshire Association of Chiefs of Police is a group of command-level law enforcement professionals advocating for public safety in the Granite State. The New Hampshire Police, Fire and EMS Foundation exists as a resource to Granite State Police, Fire and EMS personnel and their families in times of need.

The presenting sponsor for the event is Merchants Auto Commercial Sales. SONH Vice President of Development Carol Cray notes that “The Merchants Auto Group has been a partner with Special Olympics New Hampshire for nearly 20 years.” In addition to sponsoring various SONH events over the years, Merchants has provided tickets to Merchants-sponsored events for use by SONH athletes and volunteers. Cray continued “We are thrilled to see the Merchants Auto Commercial Sales division sponsor this major fundraiser.”

“We believe that everyone deserves the gift of friendship, belonging, and inclusion—on the playing field and in life,” says Brendan P. Keegan, CEO of Merchants Fleet. “Merchants is proud to continue our support for the important work being done by SONH, and we look forward to celebrating the many successes of all the SONH athletes and their families again this year.”

The event is an 18-hole four-person scramble with an 8:30am shotgun start. The registration price includes greens fees, golf cart, post-tournament lunch and more. Players can also purchase mulligans, raffle tickets and more on the day of the event. Registration is open now here. Registration fee is $150 per person.

In addition to the Golf Tournament, there will also be a Cornhole Tournament for family members and friends. The Cornhole Tournament is open to 48 pairs of players and runs from 9am to 1pm. Registration is just $25 and includes lunch. There will be cash prizes for Cornhole Tournament winners.
