Concord, NH (March 7, 2024) – Special Olympics New Hampshire (SONH) is back at the Big Lake this Friday and Saturday for the annual Winni Dip fundraisers. The events will once again be held at the Margate Resort in Laconia. This year’s theme is “Halloween”.

The Friday Dip is reserved for middle school and high school students either as individual dippers or part of a school team participating in the High School Dip and the Middle School Dip. Saturday will include the Law Enforcement Dip open to police officers and other public safety personnel as well as the Community Winni Dip which is open to everyone ages 15 and older. For the hearty dipper seeking a challenge there is also the MEGA Dip, consisting of one dip-per hour for 24 consecutive hours across Friday and Saturday.

Most fundraising is done online at the SONH website and via each dipper’s existing social media. This allows most people to reach their fundraising minimums in as quick as just two or three days. Registration is open now at www.SONH.org. Participants choose which event they want to take part in and whether they will be doing so in-person at the Margate or utilizing the “D-I-Y” option. Those opting for the latter will receive their very own “Party Pail” delivered to their home ahead of the Winni Dip weekend.

The 2024 Winni Dip is presented by Coca-Cola Beverages Northeast.

“Coke Northeast is so proud to be a part of the Special Olympics New Hampshire community, and a sponsor of the 2024 Winni Dip. A special thank you to our Law Enforcement and First Responders who are raising much needed funding to support New Hampshire’s amazing Special Olympics Athletes,” said Mike Elmer, Vice President of People and Culture at Coca Cola Beverages Northeast. He added “Have a great Dip!” Elmer also serves as Treasurer on the Board of Directors of SONH.

“This year, Special Olympics New Hampshire is celebrating 40 years of the Law Enforcement Torch Run in New Hampshire. The Law Enforcement Winni Dip is an extension of that fundraising effort and a lot of fun for those who participate,” according to SONH President and CEO Mary Conroy.

Funds raised from the Winni Dip events will go towards athlete training and upcoming competitions like the State Basketball Tournament in April, several regional competitions in May, the State Summer Games at UNH at the end of May and more. All funds raised from the Winni Dip stay in the Granite State.

Those joining in-person events at the Margate will enjoy a pre-dip party and costume contest as well as a post-dip awards ceremony. Dippers doing the D-I-Y Dip are asked to always keep safety in mind. Pictures or video should be posted to social media using #sonhdip.
