Special Olympics New Hampshire Runs the 129th Boston Marathon®

Four Runners to Race on Monday

Concord, NH (April 16, 2025) – This Monday the 129th running of the Boston Marathon will take place. Four runners are running Boston as a fundraiser for Special Olympics New Hampshire (SONH).

This year will mark the seventh time Nashua SONH athlete Thomas Cantara (Bib #P 106) will run in the Boston Marathon. Last year Cantara took Boston in 2 hours, 35 minutes and 23 seconds winning the T20 Para Division and earning a cash prize. He has his sights set on repeating as the T20 champion in 2025.

Also running Boston for Special Olympics New Hampshire is SONH athlete Ben Langlois (Bib #8232) from Keene. In addition to running, Ben is a boxer and plays basketball. In fact, his favorite SONH memory is playing basketball on Team NH at the 2014 Special Olympics USA Games in Princeton, New Jersey. He scored 19 points, and New Hampshire took the gold medal. Regarding the Boston Marathon Ben says, “I’m feeling very ready, it’s all about the mindset.”

More information about all four Boston Marathon runners who are fundraising for the athletes and programs of Special Olympics New Hampshire can be found at https://fundraising.sonh.org/meet-the-team-2025.

There is an additional Thomas running Boston for SONH this year. He’s Tom Hartge (Bib # 28780), a Michigan native who attended Boston College and watched Bill Rodgers win his first Boston Marathon. Hartge will be running Boston for the 39th time in 2025. He says he’s inspired to run every year by the QCC. That’s the Quarter Century Club comprised of runners who have run the Boston Marathon at least 25 times.

Tory Wight (Bib #28322) is the final member of the team of fundraising Boston Marathon runners. A relative of Tory’s introduced her to Thomas Cantara, knowing about their mutual passion for running. She says that his running journey is “inspirational.” The confidence that Thomas exhibits as a result of his running career is why Tory believes SONH is such a great cause to help fundraise for.

The 129th running of the Boston Marathon is this Monday, April 21st and will once again be carried live on WMUR-TV. Additional information can be found here. More information about Special Olympics New Hampshire can be found at www.SONH.org.
