Great North Woods Area Summer Games in Berlin Sunday
Competition Sunday, May 4th at Berlin Middle-High School
Berlin, NH (May 1, 2025) – The athletes of Special Olympics New Hampshire (SONH) are already looking forward to the 2025 State Summer Games at UNH. To be able to participate in those games, athletes will be qualifying at regional competitions this Sunday. The Great North Woods Area Summer Games will be held at Berlin Middle-High School on May 4th and kick-off with Opening Ceremonies at 9:15 am.
The Great North Woods Area Summer Games include competition in athletics and bocce. The Area Summer Games serve as a precursor to the State Summer Games June 6th and 7th at UNH in Durham. Similar regional competitions are taking place this Sunday in two other regions of New Hampshire. The Upper Valley Area Summer Games are taking place in Claremont and the Seacoast Area Summer Games are in Exeter.
While many volunteers are ready for the event, there’s always room for more volunteers. Opportunities include competition support in Track and Field as well as Bocce, set-up and breakdown, food service, photos and video, awards and more. Anyone interested in helping on May 4th in Berlin is encouraged to check out the available volunteer opportunities here.
SONH is signing up volunteers now for the hundreds of positions that will be needed for the June event. Descriptions of those volunteer opportunities and sign-up can be found here.
Information about other events and activities can be found at www.SONH.org.
