Cornhole Mixer with Service Credit Union

There was plenty of friendly competition — and even more laughter — at Service Credit Union Headquarters in Portsmouth last Friday, as Special Olympics New Hampshire athletes teamed up with Service Credit Union employees for a Cornhole Mixer that was all about connection, inclusion, and fun.

Hosted at SCU’s headquarters on October 17th, the event paired each participating Service Credit Union employee with a Special Olympics athlete for an afternoon of camaraderie and competition. Teams took part in round-robin play, followed by an elimination round that led to a five-team championship showdown.

While the games were exciting, the real win of the day was the shared experience. The Cornhole Mixer offered Service Credit Union employees a chance to meet SONH athletes in a relaxed, inclusive setting — learning firsthand about the power of sports to bring people together.

“We believe that connection is the foundation of community. Partnering with Special Olympics New Hampshire for events like the Cornhole Mixer gives our employees the chance to build friendships with the athletes, break down barriers, and have a great time together.”

Jaime Yates, Assistant Vice President of Community Development at Service Credit Union

Service Credit Union has been an incredible partner to Special Olympics New Hampshire, supporting our mission through event sponsorship, active participation in Winter Water Sports fundraisers, representation on our Board of Directors, and more. Their commitment to inclusion extends far beyond the playing field, helping create opportunities for athletes to shine both in competition and in the community.

We’re so grateful to Service Credit Union for their continued partnership and to everyone who joined us for this day of teamwork, smiles, and spirited play.
