Celebrating the Hypertherm HOPE Foundation and their Commitment to Our Athletes

For more than two decades, the Hypertherm HOPE Foundation has been a shining example of community partnership and inclusion — bringing joy, energy, and heartfelt enthusiasm to the Special Olympics New Hampshire State Bowling Tournament. Each year, the Hypertherm Associates team takes the lead in running the Upper Valley site at Maple Lanes, ensuring that every athlete experiences a day filled with smiles, celebration, and strikes!
What began as an opportunity to give back has grown into a long-standing tradition that embodies the spirit of the Hypertherm HOPE Foundation — Helping Others and Promoting Education — and the heart of Special Olympics: inclusion, teamwork, and joy through sport.
Hypertherm Associates’ support for Special Olympics New Hampshire dates back to 2004, when their associates first volunteered at the Upper Valley Fall Games. Over the years, they’ve helped organize everything from volleyball to equestrian competitions — but it’s bowling that has become their annual tradition, continuing to benefit from the team’s leadership and dedication.
“We were invited to take on this leadership role many years ago,” the team shared, “and our associates have enjoyed being involved so much that continuing was never even a question. The joy on the athletes’ faces and their excitement during the event inspires us to return year after year.”
Their commitment shines through in every detail. One cherished tradition that’s become a favorite among athletes and coaches is a photo gift created on-site each year:
“Every year one of our volunteers takes team photos, runs to the local pharmacy to get them printed, returns to the event, and puts them in a gift frame for each coach, athlete, and caregiver to take home.”
It’s these thoughtful touches — born from compassion, teamwork, and a genuine love for the athletes — that make the Maple Lanes tournament so special.
The Maple Lanes event wouldn’t be what it is today without the Hypertherm HOPE Foundation’s leadership, passion, and community spirit. Together, we’re not just rolling strikes — we’re building confidence, friendships, and joy across New Hampshire.
