Sending Cheer to Our Friend, Shawn Wiggin

At Special Olympics New Hampshire, our community is everything. The friendships we form, the memories we make, and the care we share for one another reach far beyond the playing field.

Today, we want to take a moment to recognize someone who embodies that spirit — Shawn Wiggin.

Shawn has been a proud member of the SONH family for many years — first as an athlete and later as a coach. He competed with passion and heart at every level, including representing Team USA at the 1999 World Games and 2006 USA Games in volleyball. Throughout his time with Special Olympics, he also competed in ten pin bowling and bocce, always giving his all and lifting up those around him.

For Shawn, Special Olympics has always been more than just competition — it’s been a way of life. His family shared that he rarely goes more than a day without wearing something that says “Special Olympics.” He cherishes his teammates, coaches, and friends, and the sense of belonging that comes from being part of our movement.

Right now, Shawn could use a little extra cheer from his SONH community. If you’d like to send him a note, a card, or a memory from your time together, you can reach him here:
