Training Camp #2 & Big Wins Across Team NH

March 29, 2026

Team NH returned from Waterville Valley this weekend stronger, more connected, and one step closer to the 2026 USA Games.

Our second official training camp brought a new level of focus, with athletes diving into sport-specific training alongside their teammates. From early morning sessions to afternoon reps, the weekend was all about sharpening skills, building confidence, and pushing limits—together.

In between trainings, the team made space for connection, laughter, and a few unforgettable moments that reminded us what Team NH is all about.

Focused Training, United Team

Across every sport, athletes showed up ready to work. Whether it was dialing in technique, building endurance, or learning from coaches and teammates, the energy throughout the weekend was undeniable.

But what stood out just as much as the training itself was the way athletes supported one another—encouraging, celebrating, and growing stronger as a team with every session.

A Night to Remember 🎤

Saturday evening brought a special moment as powerlifting athlete Brett Clough took the spotlight—not in the gym, but on the mic.

A talented singer-songwriter, Brett performed for the team, creating a moment that was equal parts inspiring and unforgettable. It was a powerful reminder that Team NH athletes bring more than just strength and skill to the Games—they bring passion, creativity, and heart.

Celebrating Grit and Greatness 🎳

Beyond this weekend, we’re also celebrating an incredible accomplishment from Team NH bowler Darren Brown.

At a recent practice at Yankee Lanes, Darren faced a tough first game. But instead of letting it define his day, he reset, refocused, and came back determined.

What followed was nothing short of remarkable:

🎳 6 strikes to start the game
🎳 8 strikes total
🎳 No open frames
🎳 A personal best score of 249

Darren’s performance is a perfect example of perseverance in action—pushing through doubt, staying positive, and proving what’s possible.

Thank You to Our Supporters ❤️

This weekend wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support behind Team NH.

A huge thank you to Northeast Delta Dental for sponsoring this training camp and helping create an environment where our athletes can train, grow, and thrive.

We also want to recognize Jersey Mike’s for their outstanding support throughout March during their Month of Giving—and especially on the Day of Giving on March 25, when 100% of proceeds from all 18 New Hampshire locations went directly toward sending Special Olympics athletes to the USA Games.

That kind of community support is truly game-changing.

What’s Next for Team NH

With two training camps complete, Team NH is gaining momentum. Every practice, every rep, and every shared moment is building toward something bigger.

And we’re just getting started.
