Hillsboro Police Chief Chris Parsons Named New Hampshire Law Enforcement Torch Run Director

October 18, 2026

There’s a new leader carrying the torch for the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics New Hampshire!

Chris Parsons, Chief of Police for the Hillsboro Police Department, has been appointed by the New Hampshire Association of Chiefs of Police to serve as the new Law Enforcement Torch Run Director for Special Olympics New Hampshire. He steps into the role following the retirement of longtime Torch Run Director Brian Levesque.

For Chris, this new role builds on more than 15 years of involvement with Special Olympics New Hampshire and the Law Enforcement Torch Run.

Over the years, Chris has supported SONH and its athletes in just about every way you can imagine. He has braved the icy waters as both a Law Enforcement Dipper and Mega Dipper, led the Hillsboro-to-Concord leg of the Law Enforcement Torch Run, volunteered at events and presented awards to athletes at SONH competitions.

Now, he’ll bring all of that experience to his newest role, helping lead New Hampshire’s law enforcement community in its continued support of Special Olympics athletes across the state.

Chris has served as Chief of Police for the Hillsboro Police Department since 2022. His longstanding involvement with SONH has given him the opportunity to experience the Law Enforcement Torch Run not simply as a fundraising initiative, but as a community built around law enforcement officers and Special Olympics athletes coming together in support of inclusion.

His appointment also marks a new chapter for New Hampshire’s Torch Run program following Brian Levesque’s retirement. Brian’s years of leadership and dedication helped shape the LETR community that Chris now steps forward to lead.

We are incredibly excited to welcome Chris as New Hampshire’s new Law Enforcement Torch Run Director and to see where he helps carry the Flame of Hope next.

Congratulations, Chief Parsons, and thank you for continuing to carry the torch for Special Olympics New Hampshire athletes!
