At Special Olympics New Hampshire (SONH), we believe in the extraordinary potential of every person. Every day, we create opportunities for children and adults with intellectual disabilities to develop courage, experience joy, and find a true sense of belonging. Through the power of sport and community, we open hearts, break barriers, and change lives.
We’re looking for a Communications Specialist who is equal parts organizer, amplifier, and creative producer. This is a role for someone who can take powerful stories, campaigns, and priorities—and make sure they show up consistently, clearly, and visually across every channel.
If you enjoy managing content, bringing campaigns to life, and creating graphics and materials that help a mission stand out, this role was made for you.
What You’ll Do
As Communications Specialist, you’ll play a key role in how SONH shows up day-to-day—ensuring our messaging is executed consistently across platforms and our campaigns are supported with strong visuals and clear communication.
Think of this role like execution meets creative production:
- Manage SONH’s social media platforms and email marketing, ensuring consistent and engaging communication
- Execute weekly newsletters and campaign-based emails
- Maintain and manage the communications calendar
- Support communications for events, fundraising campaigns, and volunteer recruitment efforts
- Create and design graphics and collateral, including:
- Social media graphics
- Event signage and materials
- Flyers, one-pagers, and promotional assets
- Adapt and format content across platforms to ensure consistency and quality
- Coordinate and manage photo and video assets for use across communications
- Track performance of communications (social, email, web traffic) and report on results
Who You Are
- Organized and detail-oriented—you can manage multiple pieces of content at once
- Visually minded—you enjoy creating graphics and making content look strong and consistent
- Comfortable working across platforms (social, email, design tools)
- A strong executor who can take direction and bring it to life
- Someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys being part of a bigger picture
What You Bring
- 2–4 years of experience in marketing, communications, graphic design, or a related field
- Experience with social media management and email marketing platforms
- Experience with design tools (Canva or similar)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
- Experience with nonprofit or mission-driven organizations is a plus
What We Offer
- Salary: $50,000 – $60,000, based on experience.
- Benefits: Health insurance, retirement contributions, generous PTO, and holidays.
- Flexibility: Remote-based role with a supportive, mission-driven team.
- The chance to make a measurable impact in the lives of athletes, families, and communities across New Hampshire.
