Why Join Us?
At Special Olympics New Hampshire (SONH), we believe in the extraordinary potential of every person. Every day, we create opportunities for children and adults with intellectual disabilities to develop courage, experience joy, and find a true sense of belonging. Through the power of sport and community, we open hearts, break barriers, and change lives.
We’re looking for an individual who is ready to bring energy, hustle, and heart to our mission. If you’re a natural connector—someone who thrives on building relationships and isn’t afraid of making the ask—this role was made for you.
What You’ll Do
As a Director of Development, you’ll play a key role in growing our fundraising impact and community reach. You will supervise a team of three staff members, providing strategic leadership while supporting the planning and execution of fundraising events. This role will also lead efforts to identify, cultivate, and steward corporate sponsors and strategic community partners to advance the organization’s mission.

- A natural relationship builder who is skilled at developing partnerships and securing sponsorships.
- Confident and resilient when making the ask and pursuing revenue growth.
- An enthusiastic advocate who can inspire others to support a cause.
- A results-oriented professional who balances relationship-building with measurable goals.
- Adaptable and energized by a flexible, evolving role where no two days are the same.

- At least five years of experience in fundraising, sales, or relationship management.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills across verbal, written, and digital channels.
- A demonstrated ability to achieve measurable, metrics-driven goals.
- Confidence using technology and digital tools.
- Experience supervising and supporting staff.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with nonprofit fundraising, peer-to-peer campaigns, or event-based sales.
- Knowledge of New Hampshire’s philanthropic and business communities.
What We Offer
- Salary: $65,000 – $75,000, based on experience
- Benefits: Health insurance, retirement contributions, generous PTO, and holidays.
- Flexibility: Remote-based role with a supportive, mission-driven team.
- The chance to make a measurable impact in the lives of athletes, families, and communities across New Hampshire.
