Snowboarding

Snowboarding competition is offered in six categories (1, 2 with Support, 2, 3 with Support, 3 and 4) and in six different events – 10 M Walk, 10 M Glide, 25 Super Glide, Slalom (2 runs combined), Giant slalom (2 runs combined) and Super G (1 run). Athletes train in one category for a minimum of 10 weeks at a ski area (many mountains have an adaptive ski program) working on skiing techniques and running gates in preparation for competition. We will not offer an Area Games in 2023, competition will only be offered at the State Winter Games at Waterville Valley. At the State Games athletes will be divisioned after a Giant Slalom 1-run time trial.
