Middle School

Students in grades five through eight

Unified Sports

By middle school, students have learned basic sports skills and now focus begins to shift toward competition.  Students practice weekly after school through the season.  Each session culminates in a Jamboree where schools compete against each other.

Sports offered include soccer in the fall, basketball in the winter and kickball in the spring.

Youth Leadership & Advocacy

Students form inclusive clubs to learn about Project UNIFY and training them to educate others.

Whole School Engagement

Schools host Fans in the Stands events or Spread the Word to End the Word campaigns, which inspires respect and acceptance through raising awareness about the R-word and how hurtful words and disrespect can be towards people with ID

Sustainability

Schools may apply for stipends to assist with funding of Project UNIFY for their first three years of participation.
