Local Programs
- What training and paperwork are required to become a Unified Partner®, Local Program Volunteer or Class A Volunteer?

To become a Unified Sports® Partner, Local Program Volunteer or Class A Volunteer, you must complete:
- The Unified Partner Application and Local Program Volunteer Application every three years and send to Andrea Edwards
- If you would like to be a Unified Sports® partner, please be sure to check the box on the top of page one “Unified Partner.”
- The Communicable Disease Waiver
- A background check (required only if you are 18+) every three years –
- If you answered NO to all four questions in the Background Information section of the LPV Application:
- Click here
- Enter good deed code bs0w717 if prompted
- If you answered YES to any of the questions in Background Information section of the LPV Application:
- Click here
- Enter good deed code g7ukn1p if prompted

- If you answered NO to all four questions in the Background Information section of the LPV Application:
- Online protective behaviors training (required only if you are 18+) every three years.
- Retaking protective behaviors? To recertify in Protective Behaviors, you must click the “Renew Certification” button prior to taking the course. Clicking “Retake The Course” will not renew your certification.

All coaches must:
- Complete Local Program Volunteer requirements.
- Complete the Concussion Training Course on the Special Olympics Learning Portal.
