What paperwork is required to get started?
Athletes over eight-years-old must fully complete and submit an athlete application and communicable disease wavier prior to beginning practices. Athletes between two and seven years old must fill out a Young Athletes application and communicable disease waiver prior to beginning sessions. For more information, please click here.
Does Special Olympics have opportunities for my athlete outside of competition?
Yes! SONH offers many opportunities outside of competition, such as athlete leadership, the Penguin Plunge, and many athlete-involved fundraisers and social events throughout the year.
How much does it cost to be a Special Olympics athlete?
There is no cost to athletes or their families to participate in Special Olympics programing. There is, however, an expectation to support your local program program with fundraising. Local Programs are assessed for their participation at State Games.
