Fundraising

With some amazing local partners, Manchester Special Olympics has several fundraisers to help support our athletes in events and competitions throughout the year. Costs for our team range from new uniforms and equipment, paying for practice facilities, and training opportunities for our athletes. Fundraising is a critical component of our program, so that families and athletes are able to compete without any out of pocket costs.

We have a fundraising page set up so anyone can donate at any time! Any support is greatly appreciated, and all funds raised go directly to supporting Manchester Special Olympics athletes at practices and competitions! View our fundraising page here!

In addition, we also have some great fundraising opportunities throughout the season! See below for some information on what we do to help support our athletes.

Peter J. Fleming Memorial Ski Race

In 2023, The Manchester Special Olympics Ski and Snowboard team was proud to host the Peter J. Fleming Memorial Race at McIntyre Ski Area. Peter was involved with Special Olympics for over 40 years, and over 12 years as a skier on the Manchester team. Each year, we aim to raise over $20,000. In 2024, we raised over $30,000 for the Manchester Special Olympics team, and hope to grow that number again next year!

Team Manchester Penguin Plunge

The Penguin Plunge takes place every February, where thousands of people from across New England brave the cold temperatures and jump into the ocean at Hampton Beach! A portion of funds raised go back directly to local programs. Every year, Team Manchester participates. We would love for you to join our team, and help directly support our athletes. Can’t make it in February? There’s always the DIY Plunge option! To join our penguin flock, please contact us!
Captain Plunger

Manchester’s own Captain Plunger as he takes on the icy waters of the Atlantic in the name of Special Olympics NH.
